Healthcare futurist and commentator Paul Keckley, PhD, is managing editor of The Keckley Report, a weekly blog covering health industry trends and issues. He has extensive healthcare industry experience having worked in the private sector, academic medicine, and investment community. In addition, he has authored three books and more than 200 articles and, during the negotiation of the Affordable Care Act in 2009 and 2010, he served as the facilitator between the White House Office of Health Reform and leading trade groups in its design and subsequent passage.
Paul is a columnist for Hospitals and Health Networks and a frequent contributor to media coverage of health industry issues and trends on Fox News and CNN and in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times. Paul has served as executive director for the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions and Vanderbilt’s Center for Evidence-Based Medicine, CEO of EBM Solutions Inc. and PhyCor Management Corporation (the IPA subsidiary), and managing director of The Keckley Group. He serves on the board of Healthways Inc. and as an advisor to the American Academy for Physician Leadership, the American Hospital Association, the Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy, and Western Governors University. He is a member of the Health Executive Network, Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the Nashville Healthcare Council. He also served in adjunct faculty roles at the Georgetown University School of Public Health, the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, and the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
Paul holds a bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb University in Nashville, a master’s and doctoral degree from The Ohio State University, and he did a graduate fellowship at Oxford University in the United Kingdom.
